Welcome to Avanco Resources' Website
Avanco Resources Limited is a Brazilian focused company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange on 7 December 2007 (ASX codes AVB and AVBO). The Company has a Carajas Regional office in Parauapebas and a Brazilian Country office in Rio de Janeiro. Corporate activities are driven from the Perth office in Australia.
Leveraging from its management’s strong in-country knowledge and technical expertise, the Company’s aim is to explore and develop oxide copper deposits at its Carajas Copper Project in Brazil.
Located in the north of Brazil, the Carajas region is by virtue of the known mines and recent discoveries, regarded as one of the most prospective mineral provinces in the world for the discovery of copper, gold, nickel, manganese and iron ore deposits. The Company has four Carajas exploration properties and is increasing its presence in the region.
In January 2008 Avanco commenced exploration at the Carajas Copper Project on the Rio Verde Property. During April 2008 drill results confirmed the discovery of a significant copper oxide deposit at Antas South. The Company is now moving to full drill out of the Antas South Deposit with the aim of generating a JORC compliant resource.
The Company believes that development of the Antas South Deposit will benefit from a shallow free digging open pit with application of the less capital intensive vat leach SX-EW process.
Avanco’s vision is to build a successful copper mining company by exploration and development of copper projects in the Carajas. A pipeline of copper oxide developments is envisaged.
